Trinity Lutheran SchoolThe word of the Lord endures forever. - 1 Peter 1:25
The mission of Trinity Lutheran School is to assist families of our congregation and our community by providing a high quality, Christ-centered education to equip students for life and eternity.
We offer full-time Christian education for pre-K through 8th grade in a multi-grade setting.
We provide opportunities for children to excel in all areas: academic, music, athletics, technology.
We currently have about 50 students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, as well as 24 preschoolers (ages 3-4 years), with an aftercare program available for our preK until 3:00pm.
We are a member of a nationally recognized family of Christian Education that serves its students with teachers who are qualified, dedicated, caring, and certified by the 5th largest private/parochial school system in the United States–Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
As of the 2018-2019 school year, we have been members of the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP), a program for free tuition for families who qualify. Please contact us for more details.
Trinity Lutheran School utilizes the multi-grade classroom model for our small classroom environment. But how does a multi-grade classroom work? Why should I send my kids to such a school? What are the benefits of a multi-grade classroom?
Please watch the two videos below to find out!
Meet the Staff
Josh Danell, Principal
5-8th Grade Teacher (Mornings)
I graduated from Martin Luther College (MLC) in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. As a graduate I was assigned to MLC as an Admissions Counselor where I served for two years. There, I traveled to nine WELS high schools, encouraging students to consider MLC to become pastors, teachers, and staff ministers. After two years I was reassigned with my wife, Kelly, to teach 4th-8th grade at Grace Lutheran School in Geneva, NE. We both taught in Geneva for four years until we accepted our Calls to teach here at TLS here in Marinette.
5-8th Grade Teacher (Afternoon)
Jessica Desotell I’m originally from Coleman area Wisconsin, but have lived in central and southern Wisconsin as well. After graduating from MLC, I lived and worked in Japan at an international school for 8 years. I love to try new things and see new places, but that has slowed down a little bit since God has blessed me with a wonderful family of 2 girls, a husband, and quite a few animals with more to come. I’ll be teaching the 5-8 graders Spelling, Science, Art, and Reading.
2nd-4th Grade Teacher
I graduated from Martin Luther College in December of 2018 with degrees in elementary education and Spanish. Before graduating, I had the opportunity to teach Spanish at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, MI for one school year. Immediately after graduating, I was assigned to teach grades 5-7 here at Trinity in Marinette through the end of the year. I am so excited to continue teaching here at Trinity in the 2-4 grade classroom!
Kindergarten-1st Grade Teacher
I graduated from MLC in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Math. I taught 3rd and 4th grade for one year at St. John’s Lutheran School in Redwood Falls, MN. In July 2015, Josh and I were called to Grace Lutheran School in Geneva, NE. I was blessed to serve as the lower grades teacher for four years. This past summer Josh and I moved to Menominee to begin our ministry here at Trinity Lutheran.
I grew up in Minnesota, attended MLC in New Ulm, MN, and have since lived in North Carolina, California, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Okinawa, Japan. I now live in Peshtigo with my family. My husband, Brian, works at Marinette Marine following a 22-year career in the Marine Corps. We have three children. I love music, gardening, and am an excellent pizza chef.
