LynnDaily Devotion

Dear Trinity Families,

Here is your Daily Devotion

When Elijah called Elisha to be his successor, Elisha was working. Did you ever notice how many people were working when the Lord called? Moses and David were tending sheep, Peter and Andrew were fishing, James and John were mending their nets. God called them from doing something good to something even better!

When our days are filled with work that doesn’t seem eternally important, remember that God knows where you are. “Whatever you do, keep working at it with all your heart, as for the Lord and not for people.” (Col 3:23)

While Elisha was faithfully working on the farm, Elijah threw his cloak over him. Elisha knew what that meant. He knew that he would be leaving his family to serve God full time. And he celebrated! He said good-bye to his parents and then he threw a party! God’s service is exciting! It’s fulfilling. And it saves people.

Let’s celebrate our service in God’s kingdom—in everything He’s called us to do!

God bless,

Pastor Tesch
