Welcome to our church!
The church is the core of our ministry. It is important to understand the true nature of the church. The church is not a building or an organization. The church is people. The church is defined as all those people who have been called out of darkness by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Means of Grace, the Gospel in Word and Sacrament.
The church gathers every week to worship the Lord our God, the almighty creator of the universe. We sing praises to his holy name. We open the Bible together to hear his voice in his Word. We celebrate the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion as they have been instituted and given by God to his church.
Our worship is uniquely Lutheran. The centerpiece of our worship is the Word of God. Every worship service is centered on his Word. Our confession and our hymns and our songs all lead up to the main part of the service: the reading and the exposition of the Word of God. We offer our sacrifices and our prayers. We receive the Lord’s blessing and we depart in his peace. But the center and the high point of every service is the inspired Word of our God.
We gather to encourage each other at the command of our God in Hebrews 10:25, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.”
