Ladies Aid Spring Luncheon
On Friday, March 9th, the children of TLS along with the TLC Ladies Aid put on a special function for the friends and family of TLS students. This year, instead of a Valentine’s Party as has been done in the past, we opted for a Spring Party instead! Never mind that there was still snow and ice outside, inside the TLS gym it sure was Springy!
The day started when the children got a pizza lunch as a special treat from the Ladies Aid. Then, at one o’clock they joined together to host the party for their families. The Ladies provided the decoration, along with finger sandwiches, chips, and cookies for the audience, while the children provided the entertainment.
First up was the Pre-K class who serenaded us with a multicultural presentation. They sang Feliz Navidad – yes, the were aware that it is a Christmas song! The class voted to sing it anyway as they wanted to sing something Spanish and they just really like that song! They also sang a Japanese song called Musuunde and a song called Tap Your Sticks.
Next up was the cutest little lambs you ever did see – the Kindergarten class! They sand two songs based off of the theme of sheep: Mary had a Little Lamb, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and I am Jesus’ Little Lamb.
Next up, we switched from Spring lambs to Spring ducks when the 1st and 2nd garders took the stage! They did a great job of singing Five Little Ducks and All My Little Ducklings.
The 5th-7th graders then regaled us with the History of the Hot Air Balloon, then after the 3rd and 4th graders gave a high-energy performance of Kung Fu Fighting, the 5th-7th graders came back onto the stage to finish the afternoon off with a rendition of the Little Einstein Theme Song.
Thank you children, teachers, and Ladies Aid for such a lovely afternoon!
