Questions 161-171
1. Write the 1st Article from “God also preserves me” to the end.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
What does this mean?
I believe that God created me and all that exists, and that he gave me my body and soul, eyes, ears and all my members, my mind and all my abilities.
And I believe that God still preserves me by richly and daily providing clothing and shoes, food and drink, house and home, spouse and children, land, cattle, and all I own, and all I need to keep my body and life. God also preserves me by defending me against all danger, guarding and protecting me from all evil.
All this God does only because he is my good and merciful Father in heaven, and not because I have earned or deserved it.
For all this I ought to thank and praise, to serve and obey him.
This is most certainly true.
2. Passage – In what ways does my heavenly Father protect me?
Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
He protects me by keeping evil from me or delivering me from harm.
He protects me by making everything in my life serve for my good.
3. Why does my heavenly Father preserve and protect me?
Psalm 118:1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

4. How does my heavenly Father want me to show that I appreciate his goodness and mercy to me?

He wants me to thank and praise, to serve and obey him.

Creation was ruined when sin and death entered the world by Adam and Eve’s sin. (The fall)
6. Why didn’t God destroy the world and start over again?
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God loved the world and chose to send his Son to save the world.
