2/4 Assignment – Due February 18

Two reminders:

1. We will be holding Catechism classes during Lent at the regular times. Class is over at 5:00 PM and church starts at 6:00 PM (6:30 PM at Christ and at Zion), so I will have sufficient time to get to church after class. I recommend that your family join us in the Lenten suppers at school after class and worship at the 6:00 PM service after eating.

2. We will not have class next week (February 11) since I will be on vacation. We will resume classes on February 18, Ash Wednesday, at 3:45 PM.

I encourage you to worship with your family during these special Wednesday Lenten services. During the season of Lent we take time to remember the sacrifice of our Savior, the price he paid for us, and the forgiveness and eternity that are ours because of him. These services are a great way to remember and to honor our Savior. It’s a perfect opportunity to bring your family closer to God and a great way to teach them about the love and sacrifice of Jesus. You’d be surprised at how many people are a little foggy on something as important as the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.

On to the quiz! We are continuing to lay down the foundations of memory work. The public schools don’t teach memory work much anymore so many of our children have not learned the skill. So, we are working on the skill during class. I believe it will reap benefits far beyond catechism class. The skill of memorization will help in almost every area of their lives.
